Another film well worth the time of any MotoGP fan is ‘The Doctor, The Tornado and The Kentucky Kid’. Made by Mark Neale (the Director of Faster), this documentary film is focused soley on the Laguna Seca round of MotoGP in 2005. As the title suggests, Valentino Rossi, Colin Edwards and Nicky Hayden feature heavily, but John Hopkins also takes up a large focus of the film too.
Featuring exclusive interviews, great race footage, the history of Laguna Seca and much more, this is well worth watching. The downside is possibly the fact that some of the interviews are clearly ‘phoned in’, but the effort, dedication, planning and sheer work that comes from each team in each MotoGP round is really well conveyed.
Anyway, we’ve found the film broken up into convenient and available to watch ‘for free’. It probably won’t be free to view forever, but until it gets taken down, check it out here (if you want to buy the dvd for a better picture and a ton of extras we’ve put links further down the page):
