Chris Vermeulen has decided on his future, and it lies in World Superbikes. Vermeulen will be riding the Kawasaki ZX-10R for Paul Bird Motorsport (Paul Bird Motorsport is currently fielding Newcastle’s Broc Parkes and Japan’s Makota Tamada in the 2009 championship, but the results have been poor). Kawasaki have not been the most competitive of teams in World Superbikes but Vermeulen has been convinced to join after promises from the Kawasaki bosses that WSBK is their priority and will be funded accordingly.
Chris Vermeulen said:
“This WSB program is where all their engineers and budget will be focused. They haven’t won in WSB for a long time and they really want to win races. The financial backing and resources is very good for this project.”

Let’s hope Kawasaki keep their end of the deal and fully support Chris.
