Video of Jorge Lorenzo’s Laguna Seca crash

This is video footage (for as long as it stays on YouTube at least) of Jorge Lorenzo’s spectacular highside crash at the end of the morning practice session at Laguna Seca.

Amazingly, Lorenzo was able to fight through the pain and take pole position later in the Qualifying session.

Rossi and Stoner crash – Jerez MotoGP 2011 [Video]

So, if you missed it, this is the crash between Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner that caused all the arguments. Casey Stoner told Valentino Rossi afterwards that his “ambition outweighed his talent”.

Dani Pedrosa breaks collarbone [video of crash]

Dani Pedrosa crashed just 6 minutes into the first practice session at Motegi and has sustained a double-fragment fracture to his left collarbone. Pedrosa will take no further part in this weekend’s Japanese MotoGP, and it looks likely the he will miss the next three races.

Dani Pedrosa said:
“Obviously this has been a really bad day for us. It was a strange crash in only my second full lap, in a slow section of the track. I tried to stop the bike as usual but I knew something was wrong and couldn’t avoid going down.

“After the crash I knew immediately that I was injured because it was very painful. I had a big impact in my left ankle and also my collarbone was broken as I hit the track – so obviously it feels very unlucky because recently we have had really good results.

“I’ve been very healthy through the pre-season and through the year and we had been working a lot to get to and stay at the maximum level. Another injury to contend with is really not what I needed – I don’t feel as though I deserve it.”

Video of Dani Pedrosa’s crash at Silverstone

Dani Pedrosa managed to run himself over in a crash during the Saturday qualifying session at the British MotoGP. He was carried off the track on a stretcher and was fit to race for the Sunday MotoGP.

Photograph of Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha loading up and sliding out of control just before he was highsided off the bike and fractured his leg in the Saturday Free Practice at Mugello.

Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis told the BBC:
“We have a contractual obligation to [run the bike]. At some point, once we know Valentino’s period of recovery, then we’ll decide what to do for a replacement. It’s a sad day for the sport, a sad day for the fans. It’s the worst injury of Valentino’s career.”

Jarvis went on to say that he had been to see Valentino in the medical center:

“Obviously he was a little sedated when I saw him, because of the pain he was in. Then they flew him to hospital, and he will be operated on this afternoon.”

Video of Valentino Rossi’s Mugello crash

Video of the crash that Valentino Rossi had in the Saturday morning practice session for the Italian MotoGP – Rossi fractured his right shinbone on the crash and will not race at Mugello this weekend.

Moto2: Jerez crash (Video)

The Moto2 race in Spain was red flagged due to a crash that saw multiple riders slide out. The race was restarted as a 17 lap race.

All riders involved in the crash managed to get their bikes fixed up and took part in the restarted race.
